Why Practicing on the Spot Builds Speaking Resilience

Fixed-constraint impromptu drills retrain cognitive processing under pressure. Rehearsing pre-written scripts trains recall; rapid constraint response trains executive thought.

01Timer Ceiling

Why the Timer Matters

Without limits, prep time expands indefinitely to polish answers. A hard prep ceiling forces your brain to isolate one core thesis and two supporting anchors before you utter a syllable.

⏱️Eliminates Over-Rehearsal
02Web Speech API

Native Web Speech Engine

Leverages Chromium's built-in neural speech synthesis stack. Transcription occurs with 0ms roundtrip delay without requiring massive server clusters or vendor API keys.

⚡Zero Audio Upload Latency
03Topic Archetypes

100 Diverse Prompts

Prompts span five distinct cognitive structures: perspective defense, simplified explanations, dual comparisons, storytelling recaps, and hypothetical dilemmas.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about impromptu speaking drills and privacy architecture.

What is impromptu speaking practice?↓
It's answering a question out loud with little or no preparation. You get a topic, get a short amount of time to gather your thoughts, then speak for a fixed time without stopping. It's how debate, interview, and public speaking training builds the skill of thinking on your feet.
Why does a timer matter instead of just talking whenever I feel ready?↓
Without a limit, prep time expands to fill however long you let it, and you end up rehearsing instead of practicing to think fast. A short, fixed prep window forces you to find a structure quickly. A fixed speaking window forces you to pace an answer instead of trailing off or rambling.
Why does this only work in Chrome or Edge?↓
Live transcription uses the Web Speech API, a browser feature that converts your microphone audio to text in real time. Chrome and Edge ship a working implementation of it. Safari and Firefox don't support it the same way.
Does an AI review my answer on this page?↓
No. Nothing here runs AI, and nothing here judges your answer. This page only records what you say as text. When you're done, you can copy the transcript, along with a short prompt, and paste it into whatever AI chat tool you already use for feedback.
Is my voice recorded or uploaded anywhere?↓
No. Your microphone audio is processed by the browser to produce text and is never saved as an audio file or sent to a server by this page. Only the resulting transcript exists, sitting in your browser tab.
What happens to my transcript if I close the tab?↓
It disappears. Nothing on this page is saved to your device or to any account. Copy the transcript before you navigate away if you want to keep it.
Why can't I pick the topic category?↓
Right now every topic is pulled from the full set at random to simulate real-world spontaneous speaking environments.
What if the microphone doesn't pick up anything?↓
You'll land on a results screen that says plainly that nothing was captured. You can try the same topic again or get a new one from there.
